Job Description

We are seeking a professional and empathetic Employee Relations Specialist to join our team in Medellín, Colombia. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment, addressing employee concerns, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.

  • Offer counseling and support to managers regarding labour law consultation.

  •  Manage and draft disciplinary procedures and documents. ·

  • Oversee employee relations programs and initiatives that foster a positive and productive workplace environment. 

  • Manage works council related matters.

  • Create and update employee relations policies and procedures in alignment with company goals and legal requirements. ·

  • Serve as a mediator in resolving workplace conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers in conflict resolution and problem-solving. · Interpret and communicate company policies, procedures, and practices to employees and managers.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters.

  • Document findings, make recommendations, and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.

  • Design and deliver training programs on labour law topics.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to management and employees on employee relations matters.

  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to employee relations across the organization.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and legal developments in employee relations.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improving employee relations processes and programs

Qualifications

  • 1 year of proven experience with a focus in labour law, preferably with diverse client groups and agility to work with matrixed functional areas and stakeholders. ·
  • Law degree.
  • Strong employment law knowledge is a must, backed with experience supporting redundancies, tribunals, collective consultations.
  • Proven ability to support stakeholders with varying capability in the labour space as well as training and coaching in labour law practices.
  • Strong level of both written and spoken English level is essential (B1+)
  • Outstanding relationship builder with strong collaboration skills with proven ability to build and maintain partnerships and solid working relationships with management and employees.
  • Effective communication skills with customer focus and strong influencing skills
  • The ability to operate successfully in a high volume and fast-paced environment unaided, embrace change and balance competing and opposing priorities.
  • A general familiarity and curiosity for a wide range of HR policies, practices, and trend
