Game Presenter vs. Casino Dealer: Majorika Shares Her Story
“No chips to handle, no distractions. Just you, the cards, and the camera.”
– Majorika (Korean Game Presenter)

Her story comes full circle: She first joined Evolution on her Working Holiday visa before returning to Korea to complete her university studies. After gaining hands-on experience as a casino dealer in a land-based casino, she made the decision to come back, drawn by the safety, focus, and camaraderie she found at Evolution.
With a background in casino studies and real-world experience in both environments, Majorika is uniquely positioned to understand what sets these two roles apart and why she ultimately chose to return to Evolution and build her career in the studio.
We sat down with her over coffee to uncover her story. Read on!

Same Games, Different Spotlight
At first glance, being a Game Presenter and a Casino Dealer might seem like similar jobs. After all, both involve dealing cards and running games. But according to Majorika, the difference lies in how you do the job, and what kind of environment you’re in.
“On the surface, they look similar. But the atmosphere is completely different. At a land-based casino, there were always extra tasks outside of dealing. Things such as setup, handling chips, or managing guest movements. It was physically demanding and often felt chaotic.”
At Evolution, the Game Presenter role is streamlined and focused:
“Here, you get to concentrate fully on dealing.
You’re in a studio, presenting live games on camera.
No chips to handle, no distractions — just you, the cards, and the camera. That clarity helps me stay focused and actually enjoy the work more.”
Respect, Professionalism, and Peace of Mind
Beyond the work itself, Majorika says what she missed the most after leaving Evolution was the respectful and professional culture.
“Where I was from, I always had to be careful, not just with work, but with social dynamics. I constantly worry about how people would judge me, or whether I was saying anything wrong. It was mentally exhausting” she shares.
“At Evolution, I only have one concern: Did I perform well at the table today? That kind of focus makes a huge difference. It feels like a proper workplace where people are treated as professionals.”

A background in Casino Studies helped,
but it is not a requirement
Having studied casino operations at a university, Majorika says her background definitely helped her adjust quickly.
“I already understood the game rules and flow, so I picked things up fast. Plus, since Evolution doesn’t require chip handling, it removes a lot of pressure. I can focus on looking my best on camera, engaging the players and improving my dealing skills.”
But she also makes it clear that you don’t need to have a casino degree to succeed:
“You can join without knowing a thing about casinos.
Everything is taught during training. The most important thing is to not hesitate. The longer you wait, the later you’ll start.”

Our Evolution Academy provides initial and ongoing training to help you develop both essential game skills and transferable soft skills.
Why Vancouver? Why Evolution?
When asked why she chose Vancouver over other cities in Canada, her answer was simple:
“Because Evolution is here! I once saw a vlog of a casino dealer in Vancouver and that stuck with me. That one video changed my life.”
She adds that the studio environment creates a sense of stability and immersion:
“The technology and setup reduce human error. I don’t have to worry about making any mistakes that can happen with the handling of chips.
I can focus on presenting each card with care. I’ve come to feel real pride in the job.
Before, I was just ‘someone who draws cards.’
Now, I want every card I deal to be placed beautifully with precision”

Life Outside the Studio
Even on her days off, the lifestyle shift is clear.
“I spend time relaxing, watching videos, trying out good restaurants with friends. Sometimes we cook together or go shopping.”
She notes that coworker relationships feel natural and supportive.
“Even if we don’t hang out as often as before, we always have good vibes when we do. Everyone is warm and easy to get along with.”
Her Advice to Anyone Considering the Job
Majorika doesn’t hesitate when asked what she would say to someone thinking about applying:
“You won’t find many companies like this in Vancouver. The environment is better than a real casino. More focused, more professional, and way more sustainable. I’ve grown so much, personally and professionally, just by being here.”
“Don’t overthink it. Just take the first step. Starting is already half the journey!”
