Originally from Lebanon, Clarisse<\/strong> had returned to Canada after things didn\u2019t work out back home. Determined not to go back to Montreal, she made a spontaneous move to Vancouver, with plans to pursue yoga instructor certification. Her course wasn\u2019t set to start until January, so she needed a job to fill the gap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI came across a listing for a Game Presenter role,\u201d Clarisse recalls. \u201cI thought I\u2019d be playing games from home on my laptop and earning money. I thought, \u2018Well, that sounds fun!\u2019 So I applied.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She didn\u2019t expect much\u2014certainly not an interview, let alone the world she was about to step into. When she arrived at the Evolution building for her interview, everything changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI had no idea it was such a major company,\u201d she says. \u201cThe recruiter took me on a walk through the studio space, and I started to get it. I went home and told my mom, \u2018I think I won the lottery.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She was right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What started as a short-term gig quickly turned into a fast-track career. Within three months, Clarisse became a Team Manager<\/strong>. Not long after, she was promoted to Senior Team Manager<\/strong>, and then\u2014right before the launch of the Burnaby studio\u2014offered the role of Acting Operations Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI was so stressed,\u201d Clarisse says. \u201cYou\u2019re jumping steps, and I didn\u2019t fully know what I needed to succeed. But I trusted what I\u2019d learned over my time at Evolution. You pick up the pace, the expectations, and most importantly, you learn how to lead.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She credits the team around her as a major part of her success. \u201cIf I had to choose a team to go to Burnaby with, it would have been the exact people they picked. That made all the difference.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Clarisse\u2019s journey is a testament to the power of being open, adaptable, and driven.
